We take it for granted. Amateur astronomers even come to resent it because it causes ?light pollution, but the Moon is still one of the most fascinating objects in the night sky. I love staring at it for long periods of time with my Canon Image Stabilizer binoculars. The image below is a single shot taken through my Nikon D1X camera. The three other images were taken through the SBIG ST-10XE camera during the October, 2004 Lunar eclipse.
